Boston concerts this weekend, delivered by my goby Fun Feed!
Sorry peeps, last the few weeks while I was on the road, I wasn’t able to get out the weekly post on great music this weekend. In the meantime, we’ve released the coolest thing ever. The goby Fun Feed. Personalized recommendations for the weekend, based on your personal interests. In addition to being able to search through pretty much every live music event happening within 100 miles using goby, I can use my new Fun Feed! Let’s see how it did for me!
First, a minor factoid about me: I’ve been playing guitar since I was about 12, and will go see just about any guitar god of any genre who’s in town. With that in mind, let’s see how the Fun Feed did.
The Fun Feed seems to know me pretty well. The first recommendation for me was Bruce Cockburn playing Saturday at the Berklee Performance Center. Cockburn is a virtuoso guitarist and the writer of any number cool, odd lyrics. He’s also (according to some recent reviews I saw), doing some odd/cool things with a dulcimer too…..
I got a few other great recommendations in the guitar hero vein. Tommy Emmanuel is something of an acoustic guitar god, being voted Player of the Year by Acoustic Guitar magazine, and he’s playing at the Showcase Live in Foxboro on Friday. My Fun Feed very conveniently pointed that out, along with mentioning that Weezer is at the BOA Pavilion. Maybe a little rough around the edges for some of you, but good fun.
Since I want to know everything, I poked around some more using our search, and discovered that pop sensation Adele is playing this weekend at the House of Blues. If you’re into ’70s and ’80s hard rock, UFO is at the Showcase Live on Saturday night.
I also keep track of the Middle East, since it’s such a great venue – my Fun Feed conveniently told me to check out Jalopy for some interesting improvisational groove / funk.
Not bad, just by pushing one button to get my Fun Feed!

As always, drink responsibly (or better yet get a driver!), drive safely, and information on all this and more can be found at boston music this weekend.
